Octavio Figueroa (he/him) is a Mexican musician, interactive sound designer, and educator. He creates collaborative interfaces, musical games, sound installations, and experimental instruments.
Blending traditional composition, custom hardware, and interactive design, his work seeks to empower audiences to reconsider their relationship with everyday media and technology.
He is a Resident Researcher for the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. His work has been featured in Mexico and the US in festivals and venues such as SXSW, Abrons Center, Betaworks, Casa del Lago, and Centro Cultural España.
He holds a BA in Contemporary Music Composition from Centro Universitario de Música Fermatta, an MA in Music Composition for Audiovisual Media from The University of Chichester, and an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
